Otoplasty

Otoplasty is a cosmetic ear surgery performed to correct congenital or acquired ear shape, size, or position issues. The most common reason is prominent ears that stick out more than normal.
Indications:
• Ears that stick out prominently
• Asymmetrical ear shape or underdeveloped folds
• Ear deformity due to trauma or previous surgery
• Suitable for children over 6 years and adults
Procedure:
• Performed under general or local anesthesia
• A hidden incision is made behind the ear
• Cartilage is reshaped or reinforced
• The ear is repositioned closer to the head and made symmetrical
• Duration: 1–2 hours
