Sleep Center

The Sleep Laboratory at LOR Hospital, equipped with modern devices, accurately monitors brain activity, heart rate, breathing, oxygen levels, and other vital functions during sleep through polysomnography. This allows the underlying causes of sleep disorders to be identified and an effective treatment plan to be developed.
During polysomnography, the following are monitored:
• Brain activity (EEG) – to determine sleep stages
• Eye movements (EOG) – to track REM and non-REM sleep
• Muscle tone (EMG) – to analyze movements during sleep
• Breathing flow and effort – to detect sleep apnea
• Oxygen level (SpO₂) – to check blood oxygen saturation
• Heart activity (ECG) – to identify rhythm disturbances
When is the test indicated?
• Suspected snoring and sleep apnea
• Excessive daytime sleepiness
• Sleep-related movement and behavioral disorders
• Narcolepsy, parasomnias
• Patients with disrupted sleep patterns or poor sleep quality
The test is usually performed overnight in a specialized sleep laboratory.
